What made Serena Williams so emotional in her LAST MATCH?

The legendary tennis player Serena Williams has played one of her last games in the WTA Toronto, bidding a sad goodbye to Canada.

One of her final games was against Olympic gold medalist Belinda Bencic who defeated Williams in the second round with a 6-2, 6-4 loss.

This loss wasn’t unexpected since Serena has only played three matches in 2022 and is expected to retire after the US Opens.

In the post-match interview, Bencic praised Williams and said that the night was more about the 23 times Grand Slam winner Serena.

Serena also had an emotional farewell on-court interview where fans cheered for her and showed appreciation for the player.

While not satisfied with her performance, Serena praised Bencic and expressed her love for playing on the court.

She once again reiterated her words from the Vogue article and said while she was not good at goodbyes, this was her final goodbye to Canada.

Williams will compete next week in Cincinnati before leaving for the US Opens, which will be her last tournament.
