1. After the launch of the Mirzapur Season 2 trailer, netizens started the trend of #BoycottMirzapur. The reason behind the trend was the actor Ali Fazal’s tweet in December 2019 regarding the nationwide protests against CAA and NRC where he supported the protest.
The actor in his defense said that art couldn’t be held captive to such trends.
2. In another instance, Ali Fazal’s tweet regarding the CAA and NRC protest, was misinterpreted and morphed by a wrongdoer where he included the picture of Intelligence Bureau official Ankit Sharma’s dead body and in reality, the actual picture was of before the actor’s tweet.
But, trollers who were unaware of the truth started naming the actor as ‘Hinduphobia’ and ‘Shameless supporter of killings’.
